Wilma L. Stephens

Wilma L. Stephens, 86, passed away on December 27, 2022. She was born on February 17, 1936 to the late Lee and Jessie (Williams) Brown in New Castle, Indiana. Wilma Graduated from New Castle High School in 1953. Just a short two years later she married her late husband Ronald E. Stephens on September 25, 1955. Together they had three children, Lee, Sherry, and Connie.

Wilma worked for Western Dodge Parts Department as a manager. She also was a telephone operator and worked at Eastbrook High School in the Cafeteria. Wilma attended Upland United Methodist Church and Hanfield United Methodist Church.

In her free time she enjoyed volunteering at the Lions Club, gardening, crocheting and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

Wilma is survived by her children, Connie (Steve) Studebaker of Marion, and Lee Stephens of Marion; grandchildren, Amanda (Jarrad) Chenoweth, Kyle (Lindsay) Benson, Jessieca (Kristopher) Holtzleiter, Jeremy (Kate) Stephens, Kayla Carder, and Justin Stephens; eight great-grandchildren; and brother Morris Brown.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald E. Stephens; daughter Sherry Benson; siblings, JoAnne Brown, Bud (Hazel) Brown, Mary (Russell) Chard, Laura (Wilber) Abbit, Bernetha (Lawrence) Sayre, and Don (Dolly) Brown.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Armes-Hunt Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Where a visitation will take place at the Jones-Smith Chapel 259 North Main Street, Upland, IN 46989 on Sunday, January 8, 2022 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM. The service will be held on Monday January 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM with a burial at Jefferson Cemetery to follow.
