Wanda J. Worrick

January 27, 1939 — November 30, 2020

Wanda J. Worrick, 81, died Monday, November 30, 2020 in University Nursing Center, Upland. She was born in Marion on January 27, 1939, the daughter of the late Jesse and Ellen (Parks) Knobeloch. She graduated from Mississinewa High School in 1957 and attended two years at Taylor University. She married William "Bill" Worrick on August 6, 1960 in Gas City. Together they shared 52 years before he preceded her in death on November 11, 2012. Mrs. Worrick was a member of the Upland Friends Church and retired from Eastbrook Community Schools Corporation after working for 28 years as a teacher's aide. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and baking, but mostly loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. When she slowed down a bit, she could probably be found in her recliner next to her beloved Bill, with her cat on her lap and watching IU basketball. Survivors include her children: Brian (Mitzi) Worrick, Houston, Texas; Diana Whelchel, Franklin; and Sandra (Mark) Johnson, Upland; a sister: Frances (Dave) Fuller, Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren: Abby; Allison; Angela; Phillip; Joey; Erin; Nathan; and Graham; 10 great-grandchildren: Josh; Alex; Melanie; Jaxyn; Jordyn; James; Sebastian; Solomon; Madi; and Jaxson; and several nieces and nephews. Services for Wanda will be private. Burial will be in Matthews Cemetery, Matthews. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones-Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 259 N. Main St., Upland. Memorial contributions may be made to the University Nursing Center Staff in care of the funeral home.
