Virginia J Richards

Matthews: Virginia J. Richards, 92, passed away early Saturday morning, January 21, 2017, in IU Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie. She was born in Delaware County, the daughter of the late Dennis and Iva (Waugh) Wright. Virginia graduated from Harrison Township High School, Gaston, in 1942. Virginia married L. Byron Richards on January 23, 1944, in Matthews, Indiana. He preceded her in death on January 25, 2005. Mrs. Richards, who was a resident of Delaware and Grant Counties all of her life, attended Epworth United Methodist Church, Matthews, where she enjoyed being a part of the UMW. She also enjoyed playing cards, computer games, and spending time with family. Survivors include her children, Pam Richards, Matthews, Roger (Amy) Richards, Upland, and Larry (Frederic Urban) Richards, Toronto, Canada; four grandchildren, Veronica (Drew) Tittle, Ingrid (Peyton) Stovall, Gretchen (Branden) Kooiman, and Jennifer (Chris) Zigler; five great grandchildren, Claire, Aaliyah, Jalen, Graham and Cora; two sisters, Helen Boggs, and Mary Fight and a brother, Robert (Doris) Wright; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Betty, Sally, Ruth and Jane, and a brother, Paul.
