Verna "Delores" Cawthorn, 95, of Summitville, Indiana died, Saturday, March 8, 2025

Delores was born in Adair County, Kentucky, one of ten children born to the late Carl and Nettie (Davis) Hoosier. She married James Cawthorn on February 19, 1949 in Cambellsville, Kentucky. Delores and James made the move to Summitville for work, making their home there and raising their family. Delores was a homemaker. She had a green thumb and enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening. She was a great cook and will be fondly remembered for her sought after chocolate chip cookies, "tator soup", and fried apple pies.

Delores will be missed by her husband James; children, Stan (Vonda) Cawthorn, Fairmount and Joyce Woodruff, Summitville; grandchildren, Christen Cawthorn, Lora (Dale) West, Steve (Teresa) Woodruff II, Robyn (Andrew) Elliott; great-grandchildren, Blessing (Alec) Franzetti, Christian West, Luke West, Crimson (Abbie) West, Collin Elliott, Mariah Elliott, Lilli Woodruff and Grace Woodruff; great-great-grandchildren, Shilo Franzetti, and Marcelene; special friends, Stephanie Vetor, Colton Vetor, Rob Vetor and Patricia Vetor; and other extended grandchildren.

Service for Delores will be held at the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana on Friday, March 14, 2025. Visitation will be from 12-1 PM with the funeral service at 1PM. Pastor Gina Krause officiating. Burial will follow at Vinson Cemetery in Summitville.
