Vera K. Cain

Vera K. (Royal) Cain, 101, died Tuesday, September 10, 2019, in University Nursing Center, Upland. She was born on November 27, 1917 in Gas City, the daughter of the late Wiley and Florence (Dye) Royal. She married Charles C. Cain on November 3, 1934. Together they shared 56 years before he preceded her in death on May 13, 1991. Mrs. Cain worked at Pierce Governor, Upland, for many years and attended Center Chapel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and knitting. Survivors include her sons: Mervin Cain, Upland; Jay (Jodie) Cain, Upland; and eight grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald Cain; a grandson, Tom Cain; five brothers; and two sisters. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones-Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home Cremation Services, 259 N. Main St., Upland, Indiana, where a visitation will be held on Friday, September 13, 2019 from 10 am to noon. The funeral service will follow at noon with Rev. Tom Mansbarger officiating.
