Thomas Tommy Edward Davis, 39, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2019, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Tommy was born on November 3, 1979, to Darrell and Carol Davis. On September 15, 2018, he married his best friend and love of his life, Jennifer Herniak. She survives in Fairmount. Tommy graduated from Mississinewa High School, Class of 1998. He previously attended Main Street Wesleyan Church and Westview Wesleyan in his younger years. Tommy enjoyed riding his Harley, traveling to new places with his wife and children, listening to music, karaoke, playing his guitars, and collecting records. He was also a self-proclaimed beer connoisseur. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and fellow members at the American Legion Post #313, where he was not only a member, but also served as Sergeant-at-Arms. He also served as Sergeant-at-Arms for the American Legion Riders Post #313. Tommy loved his country and served proudly in the United States Air Force for 18 years, recently returning from his 9th overseas deployment. He was a repair and reclamation specialist on the KC-135 Stratotanker in the Air Reserve Technician (ART) program as a Technical Sergeant for the434th Maintenance Squadron, Grissom Air Reserve Base. Tommys family and friends meant the world to him and his passing will leave an incredible void in their hearts. Tommy is survived by his wife, Jennifer; children, Jayden Davis, Jayce Davis, and Jessie Clanin-Davis, all of Fairmount; parents, Darrell and Carol Davis, Marion; sister, Angela (Kelly) Davis-McKee, Marion; brother, Travis Davis, Marion; four nieces and nephews, Trenton, Shanea, and Sidney McKee, and Brody Davis; in-laws, Dan Herniak, Jonesboro, and Janet Herniak, Fairmount; special friends, Dallas and Amanda Bloss and children; his dog, Bailey and cat, Buster; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; many close friends; and his American Legion, Air Force, and Grissom families. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alpheus, Jr. and Mary Davis, and Thomas and Mildred Dailey. Arrangements for Tommy have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services,415 South Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana, where a visitation will be heldon Patriot Day, Wednesday, September 11 2019, from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. Afuneral service will take placeon Thursday, September 12, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., with Michael Fuqua officiating. Burial will follow at Marion National Cemetery with military honors. Contributions made in memory of Tommy may be made to the American Legion Post#313, 522 East 8th Street, Fairmount, Indiana, or to the funeral home, where funds will be directed to an account to support his childrens futures.
