Terry 'Butch' W. Garner

Terry Butch W. Garner, 74, went to his glorious home in Heaven on July28th, 2017. He was born to the late Ivan andLelaGarner on March 22, 1943. He is survived by Nancy, hiswifeand lifelong best friend; daughter Natalie Garner; daughter Lisa (Brent) Murphy; and sister, Carol (John) Stines. Butch is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Tony Garner. Butch graduated from Marion High School in 1961, then served in the Army from 1961-1964. He worked at Dana for 33 years as a machine operator. Butch was a member of JalapaChapel,and found his joy in quietly serving God by helping others without drawing attention to himself. He enjoyed fishing, bike riding with his wife, doing yard work, gardening, and mowing yards for senior citizens.Secondonly to God, he treasured his family. He leaves behind a Christ centered legacy, living out his faith in God with integrity, prayer, and selfless love for others. He was a loving father to his daughters and proud grandfather to his 6 grandchildren: Savanna, Adrienne, Noah, Jonah, Eli and Abigail; and 1 great grandson Drew. He will also be remembered dearly by many extended family and friends. On behalf of Butch and his family, we want to thank MGH Cancer Center, Dr. Rathi Mahendran, and all the wonderful nurses and staff. Butch endearingly called them all his angels. He received the very best of care, for which the family is so grateful; to Family Life Care Hospice for all their support and guidance; to Bill Sparks and Gilead Ministries for all their unending support and encouragement; to Jalapa Chapel church family; and to all those who offered prayers, support, and love. We are so thankful for all of you. In celebration of his life, a memorial service will be held on Friday, August 4th at 2:00 pm at the ArmesHunt Funeral Home in Marion, IN.
