Terome Merril Gough, age 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Friday, January 13, 2023 at home in rural Fairmount with family by his side after a brief illness. Terome lived and farmed in Grant County all of his life. He married the Love of his life, Sharon Pernod on August 28, 1960.
He claimed to have four passions in this life: Christian Faith, family, farming and flying. He obtained his Private Pilot's license in 1978 and enjoyed many hours of giving family and friends' rides. Later in life he enjoyed flying and scouting farm fields in his powered parachute, and especially enjoyed the many friends he gained who shared that same passion. He was grateful for the fun times he had flying over Grant and surrounding counties while chatting with his flying buddies.
He considered it to be a profound blessing to be an American and voiced his gratitude for those who served this country and fought for our freedom. Terome will be remembered as a wonderful, loving husband, father, grandfather, and beloved friend to so many. Terome selflessly served his family, churches, and community. He served on the Ministry Board and various other committees at Little Ridge Friends Church until 1980 when he and Sharon became members of Cornerstone Community Church where he served on the Elder Board as well as the Trustee Board. In 2008 they became active members at Brookhaven Wesleyan Church. Terome also served on the Madison-Grant Building Board for more than 15 years holding the positions of President, Vice President, and Secretary.
Terome is survived by the love of his life and wife of 62 years, Sharon (Pernod); a brother, Gordon Gough, Fairmount, IN; a son, Merril (Diana) Gough, Joneboro, IN ; a daughter, Sylvia Corey, Ft.
