T. Edward "Ed" Gibson

T. Edward "Ed" Gibson 90 of Fairmount, IN died Saturday October 23, 2021 at Marion Health after a brief illness. Ed was born June 6, 1931, at Cofer, KY to the late Eulis and Letha (Walbert) Gibson he attended Metcalf County Kentucky Schools. He married Betty Jean Word November 10, 1956, in Columbus, IN, she preceded in death November 20, 2007. Ed was a kind and gentle man always putting others before himself and always accommodating. He enjoyed food and was a good cook, and enjoyed being with family. He was hard working and loved vintage tractors, enjoyed gardening, he could play multiple instruments and enjoyed playing Bluegrass music. Ed was a truck driver and retired from Yellow Freight Trucking. A faithful grandfather he was always happy to to watch is grandchildren participate in sporting events. Ed is survived by his daughters; Teresa (Bob) Poe, Lisa (Dan) Woods, and Anita (Neil) Logan all of Fairmount, IN. siblings; Edna Gibson, Edmonton, KY Kenneth Gibson, Cave City, KY Kimble (Barbara) Gibson, Summitville, IN and Roena Sexton, Glasgow, KY. Grandchildren: April (Kyle) Scott, Fairmount, Travis (Amy) Poe, Kokomo, Kelly (Jason) Lautzenheiser, Fairmount, Clint (Allison) Woods, Ft. Belvoir, VA Clayton (Shyla) Eccles, Fairmount, Kyle (Jamie) Eccles, Fairmount. Step-grandchildren; David Logan, Wabash, and Kim Logan Marion. Great-grandchildren; Owen Scott, Ella, and Sophia Poe, Breanna Dudley, Lennon Woods, Eva Lautzenheiser, Layla, Leah, Jackson, Kallie, and River Eccles, Aaliyah Wright-Walker, Mason and Haislee Phillips, Angel, John, Noel Mansfield, Madison, and Parker Logan. Funeral services for Ed will be Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, IN where the family will receive friends from 11 AM-1 PM at the funeral home followed by a funeral service at 1 PM with Rev. Randall Brashear officiating. Burial will be at Park Cemetery Fairmount, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to Madison-Grant Youth League in care of the funeral home.
