Susan L. Whitehead, 65, of Fairmount, Indiana, died at 12:44 PM, on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Marion Health Hospital. She entered this world on April 4, 1957, in Marion, Indiana, born to Loran and Jessie (Bowles) Crosby. Susan married Brian Whitehead on January 28, 1984, he died June 16, 2020. She was a graduate of Mississinewa High School class of 1975, and was a devoted homemaker for her husband, children and grandchildren. Susan was an excellent friend that was known for her humor and quick wit. She was an avid bird watcher, and would drive around with her best friend, LouAnn, to find eagles. Susan was a great cook, enjoyed traveling with her family and friends, going to concerts, and loved to ride around in her golf cart. Susan was a volunteer at Round Robins Bingo Barn, where she enjoyed her job and being able to socialize with people. She loved to spend her free time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who affectionately referred to her as "Gram." She is survived by her two children, Carly (Aaron) Vogel, of Marion, and Blake Whitehead, of Fairmount; three grandchildren, Beckett Vogel, Nolan Vogel, and Adeline Vogel, all of Marion; a sister, Trish (Greg) Rice, of Gas City, Indiana; niece, Lauren Rice, of Gas City; nephew, Alex Rice of Gas City; mother-in-law, Marilyn Whitehead, of Georgia; and her best friend, LouAnn Jackson, of Jonesboro, Indiana. In addition to her parents and husband, Susan was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Crosby, and Shelby Crosby; and father-in-law, Robert Whitehead. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana, 46928, where a celebration of life for close family and friends will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at 12:00 p.m., with Pastor Ryan Budde officiating.
