Scott A. Detherage, 53, of Marion, Indiana, died from a heart attack on Tuesday, December 27th, 2022, at his Marion, Indiana residence. He entered this world on July 28, 1969, at Marion General Hospital, to Robert and Deanna (Hipskind) Detherage.
Scott is survived by his father, Robert Detherage; two sisters, Karmyn Detherage, of Marion, and Sonja (Norm) Dziedzic, of Park Ridge, Illinois; and two brothers, Bob Detherage Jr., of Marion, and Kyle Detherage, of Fairmount, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Deanna J. (Hipskind) Detherage.
Scott was a happy-go-lucky boy growing up who loved playing baseball, football and baritone in the band. He was a hard worker. He was a good brother and son.
Scott lived at the Pine's Apartment community in Marion. The apartment manager had this to say about him:
Even as a man of few words, Scott made quite an impact in his community. He was a peace- seeking gentleman and was known to help others by giving rides to those in need and for "telling it like it is" when he felt the occasion warranted. And being a lover of music, he became a dedicated drummer and played in a band with his neighbor.
Even in the short time since his passing, his presence in the community is terribly missed by the many who called him their friend.
Arrangements for Scott are entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 South Main Street, Fairmount, IN 46928, where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2022.
Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Park Cemetery, Fairmount.
