Sally B. Dean

Sally B. Dean, formerly of Fairmount, passed away Sept. 27, 2016 at Colonial Oaks after a long illness. She is survived by her son, Jerry (Patricia) Abrams ofBerea, Ky daughter, Penny Dean of Cicero, IN and daughter-in-law Diana Durham ofPalosVerdesEstates, CA. Mrs. Dean is also survived by her three grandchildren, Jesse (Nenna) Abrams, Jamie (Ron)Kinmon, and Andrea Abrams,seven great-grandchildren, and sister Lucy Howard, Manchester, KY.She was preceded in death by her husband Earl Dean, son Garry Abrams, sister Mildred Smith, and brothersElihuBlair and Bill Blair. Mrs. Dean was born October 12, 1928 in Clay County, KY to Joe andReva(Hibbard) Blair. Sally graduated from Clay County High School and worked for several years at McAfees drugstore. For many years, Sally and Earl were greeters at College Wesleyan Church, where they faithfully attended, and also served on the funeral dinner committee. Mrs. Dean was also a devoted member of the Homesteaders Sunday school class until her illness. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Judy Huffman officiating at College Wesleyan Church in Marion, Indiana. There will also be a memorial service on November 19, 2016 at 2 PMin Berea, Kentucky, at Davis and Powell Funeral Home, 616 Chestnut Street with Pastor Jon Burdette officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 12-2 PM prior to the service. Interment will be in the Isaac-Lunsford-Davidson Cemetery in Jackson County, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be in Mrs. Deans name to the National Parkinsons Disease Foundation.
