Roy Howard Tincher

Roy HowardTincher, 91, went into the arms of the Lord on Sunday, April 24,2016at Millers Merry Manor in Marion. Roy was born February 15,1925to the late John and Zoe (Moore)Tincher, in Bond, Kentucky. Roy worked as an electrician for General Motors for 25 years, until he retired in 1987. Before that, he also had an Omar route in Hamilton, Ohio and also owned a Standard Station inConnorsvillewith his father and brother. Roy was a member of the Coast Guard, where he served as a radio man in World War II. Roy married the love of his life, Maude Hoard, on July 10, 1952. She preceded him in death. He was a member ofSunnycrestBaptist Church, and also had attended the Macedonia Baptist Church in Alexander, North Carolina. Roy was a32ndDegree Mason of the John L.McCollaughMasonic Lodge and also a member of the Scottish Rite in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He also was a member of the UAW. Roy was an avid golfer and was a member of Arbor Trace. One of his favorite things to do was watch westerns, especially if they were John Wayne westerns. Roy is survived by his son, Michael (Gloria)Tincher, Marion, Indiana; granddaughter,LouAnn(Brad) Pier, Westfield, Indiana; great-granddaughter, Avery Pier, Westfield, Indiana; and brother, Ray (Marilyn)Tincher, Lapel, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and ZoeTincher; wife, MaudeTincher; sister, Phyllis Hensley; and brother, FinleyTincher. Arrangements for Roy have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel ofArmes-HuntFuneral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 S. Western Ave., Marion, Indiana 46953. A memorial visitation has been set for Wednesday, May 4, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with military rites at 4:00 pm, at the College Park Chapel. Roys family would like to extend a very warm thank you to the staff of Millers Merry Manor for the care that they gave Roy. In lieu of flowers, contributions made in memory of Roy can be made to the Alzheimers Association incareof the funeral home.
