Roscoe Junior Hosier

Roscoe Junior Hosier, 81, of Greenfield, formerly of Fairmount, died at 3:30 p.m., on May 30, 2022, at The Villa at Blue Ridge in Columbia, Missouri. He was born on September 28, 1940, in Marion, Indiana, son of the late Roscoe and Leona (Greene) Hosier. He married Norma L. Adams on November 7, 1959. They celebrated 58 years together before her death on January 14, 2018. Roscoe loved cars and enjoyed working on them, his favorite was the Chevy Corvette. He started working at age 19 restoring and painting cars and worked at several auto body shops through the years. For a few years, at two different times, he and his family were caretakers of John T. Hatfield Camp in Cleveland, Indiana. While working a full-time job and rearing his family he attended Covenant Foundation College of Greenfield, IN, and obtained his Bachelor of Theology degree in 1977. In 1988, Roscoe moved his family to Ava, Missouri, and was employed by Mt. Zion Bible School operating the auto body shop and teaching shop classes. After living at Mt. Zion for a couple of years, he pastored Brush Arbor, just a few miles away. Roscoe then moved back to Indiana and was a member of the Immanuel Holiness Church in Greenfield, IN and an elder with the International Holiness Association. Throughout his life he pastored several churches, including churches in Missouri, Minnesota and Maine, in addition to Indiana. He was also a Sunday School teacher and song leader. He and Norma moved outside Greenfield to the International Holiness Youth Camp and Roscoe worked as maintenance man doing building renovations. He also enjoyed woodworking, gardening and was a John Deere tractor fan. Roscoe is survived by two children, Kenneth (Linda) Hosier, of Greenfield, and Sheila (Norman) Murray, of Ashland, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Hosier, of Republic, Missouri; four grandchildren, Dwight (Audreonna) Murray, and Nathaniel (Suzannah) Murray, both of Mexico, Missouri, and Christian and Haley, both of Republic, MO; and three great-grandchildren, Natalie, Isaac, and Cassidy. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Thomas A. Hosier, and Jonathan Hosier; and two brothers, Roy and Richard Hosier. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana, where there will be a visitation from 11:00 A.M.. - 12:00 noon, Saturday, June 11, 2022. A funeral service will begin immediately following visitation at 12:00 noon Saturday with Rev. Brian Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Park Cemetery, Fairmount. Memorial Contributions may be made to the International Conservative Holiness Association in care of the funeral home.
