Ronald Ron E. Russell, 80, of Fairmount, Indiana died Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Community Hospital in Anderson. Ron was born in Marion, Indiana on April 1, 1939, son of the late Daniel Paul and Anna Marie (Diehl) Russell. He graduated from Fairmount High School in 1957 and loved attending class reunions. Ron married Betty Kingsolver. She preceded him in death in December 1995. He married Dixie (Davis) Peters on May 26, 2001, at Fairmount Friends Church. Ron was a truck driver. He had a home delivery route for Sutters Dairy as well as owning a Deans Milk franchise and distributorship. He retired in 2004 after 25 years with Ormsby Trucking. Ron was a former member of the Fairmount Friends Church where he was a former clerk of Ministry and Over Site for several years. He was a current member of Light House Assembly of God in Marion. He loved music and enjoyed attending Cowboy Church. Ron is survived by his wife, Dixie, Fairmount; daughter, Teresa (Jay) McNamara, Albion; step-children; Marvin Peters, Fairmount, and Trisha (Peters) Scott, Gas City; and numerous loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ron was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda D. Russell-Bussard; and siblings, Dorothy L. Gore, Cleo Paulson and Kenneth Russell. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana where visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2019 from 3-6 PM. Funeral service will be at 6 PM with Rev. Jerry Galloway officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Light House Assembly of God in care of the funeral home.
