Roger E. Duckett

Roger EugeneDuckett, 77, died Friday, May 5, 2017,at Providence Anderson Post Acute, Anderson, Indiana. Roger was born in Fairmount, Indiana on September 3, 1939, son of the late FloydDuckettand Wilma (Ervin)Duckett. He married Mary Alice Gerber on February 24, 1992. She preceded him in death. Roger retired fromDelcoRemy in Anderson in 1995. As a motorcycle enthusiast, Roger loved attending bike week in Daytona, Florida and rode his 1976 BMW in 48 states. He received an award for riding 100,000 miles in his lifetime. He had previously owned a 1950 Mercury and enjoyed showing it in the James Dean Car Shows. Roger is survived by two daughters,TamalaTammy (Joseph) Backs, Avon, IN, and Renee(Marcus) Henry, Jonesboro, IN;Five Grandchildren; Andrea (Backs) Chin, Amanda Backs,Braden, Brent, and Bryce Henry;Two great-grandchildren, Sydney and Dylan Chin;Sister, ShirleyLamons, Bluffton, IN; and sister-in-law CaroleDuckett, Marion, IN. Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by daughter, RhondaDuckettand brother,DewayneDuckett. Arrangements have been entrusted to theArmes-HuntFuneral Home Cremation Services Fairmount Chapel,415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana, where there will be a visitation on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 4 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 11:00 am, with burial at a later date at Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Grant County Cancer Services.
