Robert R. Scott, 77 of Fairmount died Sunday, March 6, 2022, at Marion Health Robert was born on June 17, 1944, in Marion, Indiana, son of the late John Riley Scott and Zola Marie (Harrold) Scott Lanham. Robert graduated from Fairmount High School in 1962. He was very good at math and won the State Math Award in High School. Soon afterward Robert was drafted into the Army and served his country during the Vietnam Conflict. Robert was a mechanic at Southworth Ford for 27 years, retiring in 2006. He attended many Ford Motor Mechanics Schools and was awarded many certificates and awards for his achievements. Robert was also an ordained minister. He loved reading his Bible and attending church. Robert could fix anything, loved animals especially his cats, and hunting and fishing. His grandchildren were his world and he was very proud of each of them. He was an avid Colts fan and loved watching Family Feud. His favorite food was donuts and coffee. Robert is survived by his wife of 27 years, Judy (Hiatt) Scott; children, Stephen (Kristy) Scott, Fairmount, Dennis Eppley, Atlanta, GA, Michael (Irene) Hiatt, Marion, Misty (Kenny Gilbert) Bartholomew, Fairmount, Lee Jay Collins, Angola; grandchildren, Jevon Gilbert, Becca (Shawn Kiewitt) Martin, Cody Martin, Kaeli Bartholomew, Kloei Bartholomew, Natalie Bartholomew, Michael Hiatt, Robert Hiatt, Tyler Collins, Alissa Collins, Levi Collins, and Paris Collins; great-grandchild, Braxton Kiewitt; siblings, Wilma Moriarity, Marion, Phyllis (Gale) Hikade, Fairmount, and Mary Shelton, Hamilton, MI; and many nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Farris Lanham, and brothers-in-law, Keith Moriarity and Raymond Shelton. Services for Robert will be held at the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and cremation services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana on Sunday, March 13, 2022. Visitation is from 2-6 PM with a funeral at 6 PM with Pastor John Foster officiating. Burial will be Marion National Cemetery with military rites on Monday, March 14, with a procession leaving Armes-Hunt Funeral Home at 8:30 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marion-Grant County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1921, Marion, IN 46952.
