Robert L. Hawkins

Robert Leon Bobby Hawkins born August 26, 1946 in Marion, Grant County, Indiana, he died September 15, 2016 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Ft. Wayne, Allen County, Indiana. Bobby resided in Marion, Indiana and was the son of the late Howard Curtis and Esther Ellen (Williams) Hawkins. He married Jenny Hawkins in Gas City, Indiana who survives him now as his sister-in-law. Robert was a professional truck driver, he owned and operated his own truck and had worked for several different trucking companies during his career. Throughout his life he had lived in several states but in in his later years he has lived mostly in Wabash and Grant Counties. He was a good man and friend, he enjoyed boating, fishing, camping and cookouts with his family and friends. He was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan. Melick, Gas City, IN Step-son and nephew, Gary Allen (Beverly Wetherell) Hawkins, Marion, IN Lisa Ann Simmons-Drake (Husband Randy) Harlan, of Marion, IN Ulonda Lynn Bankson (Husband William) Davis, of Wabash, IN Sister: Catherine Kitty Irene Montgomery, Marion, IN Brothers; Danny (Wife Virginia) Hawkins, Gas City, IN and Tommy Eugene (Cindy) Hawkins, Marion, IN Sister-in-law; Linda Hawkins, Gas City, IN and Aunt Betty Lou Netzeley, Frankfort, IN He was preceded in death by step-son and nephew Timmy Ray Hawkins, brothers; Howard Jr., Richard Leroy, and Gerald Lee Hawkins. Sisters; Betty Jane Bridenthal, Shirley Ann Bennett, Mary Alice Johnson, Mary Louise and Margaret Marcile Hawkins. Funeral services will be Saturday October 1, 2016 at 2:00 PM at College Park Chapel, Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 S. Western Ave., Marion, Indiana. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
