Robert F. Geimer

Robert F. Geimer, 84, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023, at Colonial Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center in Marion. Robert was born on December 13, 1938, to the late Paul Geimer and Virginia McCord. He graduated from Gaston High School in 1956, and then attended Ball State University. He did his apprenticeship at Fisher Body, and then moved to California, where he lived for 40 years. On November 25, 1965, he married Nelda "Kay" Payne, and she survives in Fairmount.

Robert was an avid sports fan and loved to play and watch almost any sport. He even played softball until he was in his 70's. He also enjoyed water skiing, bowling, playing racquetball, and looking at classic cars.

Robert is survived by his wife, Kay; brothers, Larry and James Geimer; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family would also like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Southern Care Hospice for all the care they gave to Robert.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Virginia (step-father Gilbert McCord), and brother, John Geimer.

Arrangements for Robert have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A private graveside service will be held, and then a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Masonic Lodge in Fairmount.
