Robert 'Bob' L. Eccles

Robert Bob L. Eccles, 71, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, in Marion, Indiana. He was born on November 28, 1948, in Gas City, Indiana, to the late Dilver and Norma (Richardson) Eccles. Bob graduated from Eastbrook High School in 1968. He married Helen (Smith) Eccles in December of 1992. Bob worked several jobs throughout his working career as a warehouse worker, assembly line worker, auto mechanic and tow truck driver, until he retired in 2012, from Manitowoc Corporation after almost 29 years. He was a member of and a union steward for Sheetmetal Worker International Union local 237. He attended Grace Community Church in Marion. He enjoyed working on older cars and collecting pocket knives. Bob loved going to auctions, garage sales, and flea markets, with Daleville, Strawtown and Shipshewana being his favorite places to visit. Bob will truly be missed. Bob is survived by his wife Helen Eccles, Marion; children, Rhonda Sells, Hartford City; Pamela J. Fusselman, Hartford City; and Adam E. Eccles, Hartford City; step-children, Robin (Kevin) Jeffries, Marion; Sadie (Richard) Mercer, Marion; Mark (Mata) Smith, Jonesboro; and Rex (Jan) Smith, Jonesboro; siblings, Elesta Bishir, Fairmount; Marsha (Rex) Pearson, Gas City; Raymond (Kim) Eccles, Van Buren; Mike Eccles, Auburn; Margaret Chance, Huntington; and Melvin (Tamara) Eccles, North Manchester; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dilver and Norma (Richardson) Eccles; brothers, Ronald Eccles, Norman Eccles, Dilver Eccles Jr., Vondal Eccles, and Merritt Russell Eccles; and a sister, Sharon Turner. Arrangements for Bob have been entrusted to College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home Cremation Services, 4601 South Western Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46953, where a visitation will be held on, Saturday, December 7, 2019, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 P.M., with Chaplin James Luttrell officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana.
