It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my father, Richard Alan Scott on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the age of 67. Richard was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His presence was a source of joy, laughter, and love, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Richard dedicated 26 years of his life to General Cable, where he worked as a take-off operator. His strong work ethic and commitment to his craft were evident to all who had the pleasure of working alongside him.
Beyond his career, Richard had a rich and varied life filled with hobbies and passions. A true music enthusiast, Richard had an extensive record collection and a love for rock and metal. He enjoyed attending concerts and was known to play the guitar in his free time, always finding joy in the rhythm of music. Richard also had an exceptional talent for fixing up classic cars and any other gadget with a battery, often transforming old pieces into something new.
Richard was also known for his humor, infectious laughter, and a remarkable ability to bring people together with his jokes. His sense of fun was undeniable, and it was nearly impossible not to laugh along with him.
Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Scott; his father, Earl Scott; and his brothers, Dana and Jay Scott.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Nora Scott; his daughter, Savannah Scott; his stepsons, Chuck and Pedro Balderas; his cherished grandchildren, Nizaire, Kasai, Aden, Ava, Arlo, Jaylee, and Olivia Balderas; and his three great-grandchildren, Xavion, Kobe, and Ky'mari Balderas. He is also survived by his brother, Dale Scott, as well as a wide circle of family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Arrangements for Richard have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 S. Western Avenue, Marion, IN 46953.
A memorial service to celebrate Richard's life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 4601 S. Western Avenue, Marion, IN 46953, to cover costs of memorial services. Richard accepted God into his life as a child and, in the past attended Bethel Church. Richard's memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
