Richard D. Medina

Richard Daniel Medina, 32, passed away in Dayton, Ohio, on Monday, November 1, 2021, in an automobile accident. Richard was born on January 11, 1989, to Warren "Jay", and Lydia "Juanita" Herring, in Huntington, Indiana. He graduated from Marion High School. Richard was a very loving person with a heart of gold since day one. He was kind, loyal, and caring, traits taught to him by his three mothers, Jaunita, Lisa (Daniel) McDonald, and Francis (Genaro) Esquivel. Richard was a hard worker with big dreams and was always ready to try something new. He was a professional antique collector with a keen eye for all types of different treasures, no matter where they may have come from. Richard truly enjoyed traveling and being with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. They were his world and he was a huge part of theirs. Richard was a proud owner of an up-and-coming bed and breakfast. He and his late fianc Josh had many plans to bring happiness to everyone everywhere. Richard has left a special impact on so many that will never be forgotten. He never met a stranger and if you became his friend, you were considered to be family because he loved endlessly. May his light shine on and continue in everyone who knew him. Richard is survived by his mother, Lydia J. "Juanita" Herring, Marion; siblings, Annalise Niswander, Huntington; Jacob (Kayla Reece) Phelps, Jonesboro; Jamie (Timothy) LeMaster, Marion; Elizabeth (Matthew) Young, Marion; and Staci Trosper, Jonesboro; nieces and nephews, Logan, Ella, Hector, Timmy, Acelynn, Kalob, Elijah, Oliver, Avalon, and one on the way Jay'Lynn; and his furbaby kids, Artemis and Zeus. He was preceded in death by his brother, Hector Cedillo Jr., his father Warren "Jay" Herring, and his significant other, Josh Etgen, who passed in a car accident on December 16, 2020. Arrangements for Richard have been entrusted to College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 South Western Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46953, where a visitation will be Friday, November 5, 2021, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 10:00 A.M., with Pastor Mark Bardsley officiating. Burial immediately following at Estates of Serenity, Marion.
