Randy Thomas Rubendall

July 30, 1965 — January 15, 2024

Randy Thomas Rubendall, 58, of Fairmount, Indiana, was called home by God in the early morning hours of Monday, January 15th, 2024, in his sleep. On July 30th, 1965, in Lafayette, Indiana, Virginia (Slade) Montague and Ronald Rubendall blessed the world with the birth of Randy. He was the first and only boy of the four children they had. As Randy went on later in life he grew to love the Anderson high school marching band, which he was a tuba player for, until he graduated from there in 1984. Randy had an enormous amount of pride, love, and drive to help and protect his community. This passion started with his 30 years of service as a correctional officer at Pendleton correctional facility, and 15 years as a firefighter and EMT. Randy spent a short amount of time in the Army and ending with his 9 years of service as a Summitville and Frankton police officer.

Randy is survived by his loving wife, Lorinda Rubendall of Fairmount; his mother and stepfather, Virginia and John Montague of Anderson; children, William "Billy" Rubendall of Alexandria, Travis (Brittany) Rubendall of Alexandria, Ashleigh (Dillon) Hoover of Indianapolis, and Josh (Shelby) Reneau of Fairmount; beloved fur-babies, Princess Diva and Chimmy Chonga, both of Fairmount; siblings, Teresa (Doug) Owens of Florida, Joann "Jo" Murillo of Anderson, and Christine "Chris" (Antonio) Marin of Anderson; brother-in-law, Roger (Sue) Hendrick of Ohio; eight grandchildren, Harper Rubendall, Jordan Rubendall, Liam Rubendall, Holdyn Rubendall, Gage Rubendall, Waylon Reneau, Emry Rubendall, and Evelynn Reneau; and his long list of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Randy is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Rubendall of Pennsylvania; Grandma Slade of Lafayette; mother and father-in-law, Carol and J.C. Hendrick of Summitville; and brothers-in-law, Tony and Dave Hendrick of Fairmount and Summitville.

Randy will be deeply missed remembered cherished and loved by all who knew him. Rest peacefully Randy.

Arrangements for Randy have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 South Main Street, where a visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. A funeral service with military honors will follow at 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
