Ralph (Mike) R. Brown

Ralph (Mike) R. Brown passed away on August 28, 2022 in Oakland City, Indiana. Ralph was born on April 26, 1931 to the late Carl and Vera Ruth (Cloud) Brown. He attended Van Buren high school and graduated in 1949. Ralph married the late Emma Louise Brown on November 1, 1949. They started their lives together and had two children, Carolyn and Michael. Ralph worked at United Technology, Universal Electric, Kunkel Valve, Armes Trucking, and Dependable Freight. Ralph enjoyed playing cards, poker, and the casino. He also liked to collect coins and work on electric motors. Ralph enjoyed traveling to Virginia, and bird hunting. He also liked NASCAR. Ralph is survived by his daughter Carolyn (George) Armes of Oakland City, Indiana; son Michael Brown of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Grandchild Lindsay (Shelley) Armes of Gas City; great grandchildren Bristol, Jonah, Londyn, Brazil, Aspyn, and a bonus great grandchild Mason Wyrick; brother Vern Brown of Marion; special friend Wilma Jean Soultz. Along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Louise Brown; step brother David Hoss. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones-Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 259 North Main Street, Upland, IN 46989. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 2, 2022 from 10am-12pm at the Jones-Smith Chapel. A service will be immediately following the visitation conducted by Steve Armes . A burial to follow at Jefferson Cemetery in Upland. Memorial contributions in memory of Ralph may be made out to Alzheimer's Association 225 N.
