Phyllis Pauline West

Phyllis Pauline West, 79, Fairmount, Indiana, died Monday January 30, 2107, at Millers Merry Manor in Marion. She was born November 11, 1937, inDeCliff, Ohio, to Oscar Leslie Dennison and Mildred Miller Dennison. She was a graduate of the Class of 55 ofLaRueHigh School,LaRue, Ohio. On May 23, 1959, she married Robert Andrew West at St. Josephs R.C. Church inLaRue. Robert preceded her in death on August 13, 2010. They made their home in Marion, Indiana, for nine years before moving to Fairmount in 1971. Phyllis was a Girl Scout leader for 10 years, first in Marion and then in Fairmount. She had been employed at Russell Grace Insurance and JoeShosidAdvertising in Fort Worth, Texas; International Excess, Inc.; and the Fairmount News-Sun. She is survived by two daughters: Tina Ann Harris of Fairmount, and Vickie Jean West ofEscanaba, Michigan; two sons: William Douglas West of Michigan City and Mark Andrew West of Fairmount, Indiana; six grandchildren: Megan Harris of Austin, Texas; Erin Harris of Seoul, South Korea; Spencer and Shane West, Sara (Kyle)Poracky, and Staci (Chris) Fox all ofChesterton, Indiana. She is also survived by one brother, Theodore Dennison of Sylvania, Ohio, and one nephew, Neil (Helen)Bausof Napoleon, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mary JeanPavlackaand Patricia Wagner. Armes-HuntFuneral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana are handling arrangements. At her request, there will be no visitation. Burial will be at Park Cemetery with family members only by her request, with the Rev. Leo Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to one of her favorite charities: The Wounded Warrior Project, St. Josephs Indian School, World Wildlife Fund, the Grant County Humane Society, or Helping Hands of Fairmount.
