Pauline M. Blackburn, 83, of Fairmount, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 23, 2024, at her residence.
Born on March 2, 1941, in Radley, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late James E. Jr. and Frances E. (Poe) Ancil. Pauline dedicated much of her life to nurturing others, working in the cafeteria at Madison-Grant School Corporation and serving as a beloved babysitter. She was a member of the class of 1959 of Fairmount High School and had attended the former Oak Ridge Friends Church and Grace Community Church.
Pauline married Melvin R. Blackburn on October 4, 1957; he preceded her in death on October 26, 1999. Together, they built a loving family that Pauline cherished throughout her life, she enjoyed riding in the semi with Melvin.
She is survived by her three sons: Melvin Blackburn, Jeff (Lori) Blackburn, and Randy (Lynn) Blackburn, as well as her sisters, Bonnie (Albert) Holloway and Pat (Bill) Holder, and her brother, Jim (Diana) Ancil. Pauline also leaves behind five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who will carry her memory forward.
In addition to her husband, Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Terri Lynn Blackburn, grandson Geoffery Kirk Blackburn, and daughter-in-law Debbie Blackburn.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Fairmount Chapel, Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, located at 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, IN. Pauline's family will receive friends and family Tuesday December 31, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM followed by her funeral service at 1:00 PM
Pauline's kindness and devotion to her family will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
