Patrick E. Carroll

Patrick E. Carroll, 67, died Thursday, March 14, 2019 at his Fairmount home surrounded by his family. Pat was born in Marion, Indiana on October 25, 1951, son of the late Orville Eugene and Lorraine Ann (Williams) Carroll. Pat attended Fairmount and Marion schools and was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War serving from 1969 to 1971. After returning from the war, Pat worked in the corrugated department at Owens-Illinois and also at SCM. Pat was very talented musically,enjoyed singing and playing the guitar as well as teaching others to play the guitar. He was very spiritual and a kind old soul. He married his high school sweetheart, Diane Lamb, on March 5, 2003. She preceded him in death on September 17, 2012. Pat was a member of the American Legion Post 313, Fairmount. Pat is survived by three children; Troy Allen Walker, Marion, Chad Michael (Ashley) Carroll, Gas City, Chauquette Lorraine Baker, Fairmount, stepdaughter, Shannon Renee Brennigan, Fairmount, siblings; Darnell (Paula) King, Patty (Kenneth) Kelly, Tammy Carroll, Jennifer (Byron) George, and Priscilla (Marc) Shultz, all of Fairmount, 17 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Pat was preceded in death by his parents includingbonus mom, Joyce Carroll,wife Diane, son Christopher Patrick Carroll, and siblings; Samia Shriner, Mike Carroll, Tonya Cowgill, Ray King, and Randy King. Arrangements for Pat have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana. Services will be at the VA Medical Center Protestant Chapel at 10 AM on Monday, March 25, 2019 with Mick Simpkins officiating. Viewing is one hour prior to the service from 9-10 AM. Burial will follow at Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Indiana. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
