Pamela Kay Spurgeon

Pamela K. Spurgeon passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 12:05 am. She was born in Marion, Indiana to the late L.F. and Jesse (Jacobs) Southerland. Along with her twin sister Sherril, they were the first set of twins born in Grant County in 1948.

Pam graduated from Mississinewa High School in 1966. She worked at General Motors and then at Chrysler where she retired from in August of 1997. Pam enjoyed genealogy and Bible study but her passion was ballroom dancing. Pam Attended Mt. Pleasant Christian Church where she loved attending Bible Study with her best friend Judy Eckart.

Surviving are her husband Larry Dean Spurgeon; daughter, Sherry K. (Scott) Buckley, Fishers; six grandchildren, Erin (Daniel) Murphy, Alex Buckley, Fishers, Shelby Buckley, Colorado, Amanda Jordan, Selma, Erica (Todd) Taylor, Michaela Lambert, Muncie; and several nieces and nephews.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents, L.F. and Irene Southerland, brother, Randy Jo Southerland, Nephew, Austin Tighe, daughter, Patrica Lambert, sister, Thea Messick, nephew, William Hoss, Jr., and twin sister, Sherrill Hoss, son, Phillip McGhee, Jr., brother Terry Southerland, and great grandson, Kameron Kadinger.

Services for Pam will be held at the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana on Saturday, May 18, 2024. Visitation will be from 11AM - 12PM, with the funeral service beginning at 12PM with Pastor Mark Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Gas City.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Titus Justice Scholarship fund in memory of Pamela.
