Oscar Lee Stevenson, 65, of Fairmount, died Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne after a long illness.
Oscar was born in Vanceburg, Kentucky on August 22, 1959, son of the late Oscar Stevenson and Margaret L. (Johnson) Barnett. Oscar graduated from Madison Grant High School in 1977 . Oscar was employed by RCA for many years and held several different positions, his last one being in Salvage. Oscar was a member of the Sons of the American Legion were he had served as former Vice-President. He was also a AMVETS member and the Eagles of Alexandria. In his "Glory Days", Oscar loved playing slow pitch softball. Oscar loved vegetable gardening and sports. His favorite teams were the Yankees, the Colts and Indiana Basketball. Oscar was good natured and loved joking and hanging around with his friends.
Oscar is survived by his son Jimmy Stevenson of Fairmount, and siblings Brenda Silvey, Elwood, Cora Hoots, Marion, and William Stevenson, Navarre, Florida, along with numerous special friends.
Services to celebrate Oscar's life will be held at the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana on Monday, February 3, 2025. Visitation will be from 3-5 PM with the funeral service beginning at 5 PM with Cindy Spencer officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home, for the family, to defray funeral expenses.
