Milo JosephDeweyJefferies Jr., 71, died Sunday, May 12,2019at his rural Jonesboro residence. Dewey was born on December 5,1947in Marion, Indiana, son of the late Milo Joseph Jefferies Sr. and Betty L. (McDaniel) Jefferies. He attended Marion High School and served in the Army. Dewey was a pole barn builder. He had worked for Wicks Building, Fairmount Builders and retired from Trice Buildings where he had worked for 15 years. Dewey was a family man that enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening. Dewey is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Janie L. (Thompson) Jefferies. They were married on May 24, 1969. Two children; Staci A. Jefferies, and Shane C. Jefferies, two granddaughters; Alexis andBrittaniJefferies, all of Fairmount, three sisters; Deborah (Larry) Thompson, Matthews,DeleneKramer, Indianapolis, andDeeDee(Russ) Kinder,LaFontaine, two sisters-in-law; Darlene Dunham, Jonesboro and Marylou (Marcus) Winslow, Jonesboro. Dewey was preceded in death by his parents and sister,DaenaShaffer. Armes-HuntFuneral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana are handling private arrangements request by Dewey. Memorial contributions may be made to Gilead Ministries in care of the funeral home.
