Michael Patrick King

Michael Patrick King, 72, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2019, at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, with his loving family by his side. Mike was born on May 17, 1947, in Elwood, to the late Walter and Anna King. During elementary school, he attended St. Paul Parish School, and then graduated from Mississinewa High School, class of 1965. On July 13, 1968, Mike married the love of his life, Cynthia King, and they celebrated 51 wonderful years of marriage this year. Mike proudly served his country in the Air Force. He worked for RCA for over 30 years, retiring in 2001. A faithful man, he rarely missed a service at Holy Family Catholic Church. If he was out of town, he would find a local church to attend a service. Mike enjoyedflying model airplanes,trap shooting, and he was a member of the NRA as well as the Alexandria Conservation Club. A stickler for a nice yard, he would spray RoundUp while mowing, to keep those dandelions in check. More than any hobby, he loved to spend time with his family. His family meant the world to him, especially his grandchildren. Mike is survived by his wife, Cindi; three daughters, Angela (David) Hostetler, Summitville, Teresa (Jeff) Hutson, Pilot Mountain, NC, and Jeannie (Erik) Davidson, Fairmount; six grandchildren, Allison and Abigail Hostetler, Patrick (Curtis) King, Katelyn (Torrance) Bolan, and Heath and Jenna Davidson; three great-grandchildren, Rhyden Gowin and Malia and Axel Bolan; sister-in-law, Jill King, Fairmount; brother-in-law, Bill King, LaFontaine; nephew, Troy (Mary) King; niece, Denise (Cassandra) King; special cousin, Kathy Kidwell; special friends, Dave and Linda Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Anna; in-laws, Walter and Anita King; brother, Thomas J. King; grandson, Alex David Hostetler; and special cousin, Carol Small. Arrangements for Mike have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 South Main Street, Fairmount, where a visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019, from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. A funeral mass will take place at Holy Family Catholic Church, 325 East North A Street, Gas City, at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, December 6.Burial with military honors will follow at Marion National Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Mike may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
