Michael 'Craig' Sands

Michael Craig Sands, age 33 of Gas City, passed away at Marion General Hospital on Friday, April 15, 2016. Craig was born in Marion on February 13, 1983 to the late Thomas E. Sands and the late Karen (Eldridge) Sands Atkinson. He attendedMississinewaHigh School. On May 4, 2007, he marriedAsheleyChapman. She survives in Gas City. Craig was baptized at the Calvary Baptist Church. He loved his kids and enjoyed spending time with them, whether it was fishing, camping, playing computer games, or watching movies. He also enjoyed music. In addition to his wife,Asheley, he is survived by his children, Elizabeth Deanna Miller, Matthew Michael Miller, and Michael Craig Sands II, all at home; grandmother, Barbara Eldridge, of Gas City; and parent-in-laws, John andMaschelleDownam, of Gas City. Craig was preceded in death by his parents; grandfather, Kermit Blaine Eldridge; and sister, Brittany Nicole Sands. Arrangements are entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel ofArmes-HuntFuneral Home and Cremation Services, 415 South Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana. There will be a graveside service on Thursday, April 21, at 3:00 PM at Park Cemetery, Fairmount, Indiana with Pastor Tim Hewitt Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with final expenses.
