Michael A. Andry, age 49, of Converse, IN, died Friday, July 12, 2013, at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood, IN following a motorcycle accident in Madison County, near Elwood, INA Lieutenant on the Grant County Sheriff's Department where he has been employed since 1989.He was former Town Marshall of Swayzee, Indiana.He had formerly worked security for Indiana Wesleyan University, He was an Expert Marksman, firearms instructor, stops instructor, and D.A.R.E. instructor. He was a former member of the Grant County J.E.A.N. Team.A 1984 graduate of Eastern High School, Howard County, IN and was a graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, Plainfield, IN. A member of Swayzee Masonic Lodge Grant Chapter 637.National Organization of the Blue Knights (an organization of police officers who ride motorcycles).Loved deer hunting, Indiana University and the Chicago Bears. He was in the process of restoring a 1949 Chevy pickup which he had completely disassembled and was reassembling it, with much pride.He loved his dog, Riley.He was born October 15, 1963 in Marion, INHis father Clinton I. Andry resides in Greentown and Marieta "Rita" Harvey (Husband Garry) Hill also resides in Greentown. Also surviving One Daughter: Kylie (Kevin) Volmer, Swayzee, INOne Sister: Carol Robbins, Greentown, INOne Brother: Matthew (Kira) Andry, Marion, INPaternal Grandmother; Lillie Mabel Andry Paoli, INCompanion Amy Weagley, Marion, IN 1 Granddaughter; Kourtney3 Nieces: Mariah, Hannah, and Emily Robbins. Arrangements are being handled by Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, IN Funeral service will be at Grace Community Church, 1810 E. Bradford Pike, Marion, IN at 12:00 PM, Thursday, July 18, 2013, Chaplain Darrell Smith officiating. Interment will be at Knox Chapel, Point Isabel, INLt. Michael A. Andry will be honored with full police honors by members of the Grant County Sheriff's Honor Guard. Visitation will be Wednesday July 17, 2013 at Grace Community Church 2-8 PM with Masonic Services at 7:00 PM by Swayzee Masonic Lodge also there will be visitation one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
