Mary W Walton-Emrick

March 2, 1925 — August 6, 2024

Mary P. Walton-Emrick (Smith), a beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully at Colonial Oaks Health and Rehab on August 6, 2024. Born in Huntington County on March 2, 1925, to the late Daniel and Mary (Messersmith) Smith, Mary lived a life filled with faith, love, and community spirit.


Mary attended Banquo High School and later married Lester D. Walton, with whom she shared many wonderful years until his passing. She then found love again and married Charles "Chuck" Emrick, who also precedes her in death.


Mary dedicated 15 and a half years of service as the church secretary at Marion First Church United Methodist Church. Her commitment to her faith and her church community was unwavering, and she was an active member of the United Methodist Women's group and participated in numerous Sunday school activities.


Mary had a passion for playing games, cards, reading, and playing the piano. She was known for her warm and outgoing nature, always making friends wherever she went. Her ability to connect with people and her genuine kindness left a lasting impression on all who met her.


Mary's legacy is one of love, devotion, and a joyful spirit that touched many lives. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the community she served so faithfully.


She is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Blake) Beldon of Hendersonville, TN, and Susan Seacott of Marion, IN; grandchildren, Christie Beckmann, and Aaron Beldon; great grandchildren, Vincent Beckmann, Marcus Beckmann, Takoda Beldon, Zach Beldon, Aubree Beldon, and Nathan Beldon; step-sons Dan Emrick, and Mike (Joyce) Emrick.


Mary is preceded in her passing by her parents; first husband, Lester D. Walton; second husband, Charles "Chuck" Emrick; siblings, Ester Brown and Richard Smith.


Arrangements for Mary have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 S. Western Avenue, Marion, IN 46953. A visitation will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.. Immediately following a service will begin at 1:00p.m. with Pastor Christie Beckmann as the officiant. A burial will follow at Mt. Etna in Huntington County, Indiana.


Memorial contributions in Mary's memory can be made out to the First United Methodist Church, 624 S. Adams Street, Marion, IN 46953.
