Martha L Meyer

Martha L. Meyer, 79, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family, on Monday, March 20, 2017. She was born to the lateHobertand Ruby (Walters) Payne on July 12, 1937, in Sullivan, Indiana. Martha graduated from Marion High School in 1955. She married Edwin Meyer on April 19, 1957, and he survives. She then worked for Bell Telephone, Hooks Drug Store, and also at HR Block as a tax preparer and instructor, where she retired from after 20 years. She attended Marion Memorial Tabernacle for close to 10 years. Martha enjoyed working with her hands and was always busy. She enjoyed doing bead work, knitting, painting, and she loved quilting. Martha is survived by her husband, Edwin Meyer, Marion, IN; 3 children, Troy (Teresa) Meyer, Marion, IN, Annette Mower, Jonesboro, IN, and Anita Karnes, Marion, IN; 11 grandchildren/great-grandchildren, Ashley, Ryan, Charity, Shyanne, Harlee, Kaden, Gabby, Mayleigh, Chloe, Kristi, and Nicole; 1 brother, Frank (Bobbie) Payne, Marion, IN; and 4 sisters, Gladys Burns, Marion, IN, Carolyn (Dave) Haynes, Elkhart, IN, Becky (Robert) Lynch, Jonesboro, IN, and Marlene (George) Mueller, Greenwood, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents,Hobertand Ruby Payne. Arrangements for Martha have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home Cremation Services, 4601 S. Western Ave., Marion, Indiana, where a visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, from 4 to 7 pm. A funeral service honoring Martha will be held on Friday, March 24, at 1:00 pm, with Pastor LoisHelmofficiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory, Marion, Indiana. Contributions made in memory of Martha may be made to Marion Memorial Tabernacle.
