Martha E. Schwark

Martha E.MontsSchwark, 100, of Marion, Indiana (formerly of Upland), died Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Marion General Hospital, Marion, Indiana. AuntSis, as she was known to many, was proud of attaining the age of 100. She was born November 2, 1917, in Parke County, Indiana, the daughter of Alex and Mary RoachMonts. She was a graduate of Rockville High School, class of 1935. Martha married Charles R.SchwarkOctober 6, 1940, in Parke County, Indiana. He preceded her in death on June 4, 1970. She worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield as a Claims Processor for 14 years, retiring in 1982. Prior to moving to Upland, Martha lived in Indianapolis for 25 years and then Jonesboro, moving to Upland in 1989. She attended the Upland United Methodist Church and was a 50 year member of the Upland Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 411. Martha was an avid reader and enjoyed working crossword puzzles. Surviving Martha are her daughter, Nancy (Terry) Sutton, Austin, Texas, Sister;EllenSoultz, Jonesboro, IN,7 Grandchildren; Eric, Greg, Diane, Laurie, Susan, Samantha, and Amanda,7 Great Grandchildren; Katherine, Carolyn, Danielle, Amber, Ashley, Zoe, and Alexander,1 Great-Great Granddaughter;Aubrianna. She was preceded in death by daughter Martha Lucille Bailey, Brothers, John, Pat, Rex, Walter, Roy,and RobertMonts. The Order of Eastern Star will perform a memorial service for Martha at 2:00 PM Wednesday December 20, 2017 atArmes-HuntFuneral Home and Cremation Services, Jones-Smith Chapel, 259 N. Main St., Upland, Indiana 46989 with the funeral service immediately following. Officiating the funeral service will be her nephew The Rev. Alexander P.Soultz. Interment will be in Jefferson Cemetery, Upland, Indiana.
