Marsha A. Gotschall

July 31, 1943 — February 3, 2022

Marsha A. Gotschall, 78, of Fairmount, Indiana, died at 1:00 a.m., Thursday, February 3, 2022, at her residence. She entered this world on July 31, 1943 in Marion, Indiana, born to Leo and Ann (Schwartz) Whitcomb. She married James A. Gotschall on November 10, 1962, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Marion, he preceded her in death on July 18, 2015. She was a graduate of Oak Hill High School. Marsha was a homemaker for most of her life, with a few odds and ends jobs to keep herself busy. Most notably was her time spent working in the cafeteria at Park Elementary. She took a lot of pride in her artistic ability with her painting classes and membership in the Quilters Hall of Fame. Marsha will be forever be missed by the children in the community, as she would take in many of the children as her own. She was a very selfless woman, but could be stubborn at times. Marsha spent her last several years content with relaxing and being at home where she would enjoy her favorite drink, Diet Coke. She is survived by her two sons, Mark (Cathy) Gotschall of Tipton, Indiana, and Josh Gotschall of Fairmount; granddaughter, Tera Gotschall; and a brother Brian (Barb) Whitcomb of Tipton. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Amy Lynn Swinney; and a brother, Paul Whitcomb. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount. The family of Marsha will hold a celebration of her life at a later date.
