Linda Sue Hayes

Linda Sue Ailes-Marshall-Scott-Hayes, 81, of Fowlerton, Indiana, died at 11:37 PM, on Friday, February 3, 2023, at Fowlerton home. She entered this world on June 1, 1941, in Sims, Indiana, born to Francis and Velma Mae (Hughes) Ailes.


She worked as a nursing aide at the nursing home in Fowlerton years ago. After her time at the nursing home, she dedicated her time to the home to care for her family as a homemaker. Linda attended the Wesleyan Church in Fowlerton for many years. She enjoyed watching and ordering items from QVC, but was best known for her amazing ability to cook. Linda was very much a family woman who especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and dog, Duke.


Linda is survived by her four children, Thomas Marshall and Mary (James Green) Marshall, both of Summitville, Indiana, Joseph Allen (Teresa Wandersee) Marshall, of Jonesboro, Indiana, and Troy Marshall, of Fowlerton; nine grandchildren, Amber Marshall, of Summitville, Jennifer Collins, of Georgia, Ashley Evans, of Wabash, Indiana, Natasha (Greg) Ulery, of Muncie, Indiana, Shantel Hollingsworth, of Greentown, Indiana, Joseph Allen Marshall, II, of Fairmount, Indiana, Tiffany (Clay) Kittinger, of Marion, Indiana, Felicia (Jacob Haskins) Coulter, of Gas City, Indiana, and Carly Marshall, of Jonesboro; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Herb Ailes, of Gas City; and a sister, Eileen Payne, of Marion.


In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her son, James Marshall; granddaughter-in-law, Amy Marshall; five sisters, and four brothers.


Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 South Main Street, Fairmount, IN 46928.


A celebration of life service will be held at a later date by the family.


Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help the family with expenses.
