Lewis B. Shelton

Lewis B. Shelton, 84, passed away on January 23, 2023 at Alexandria Care Center. He was born on April 8, 1938 in Limestone, Tennessee to the late Nathanial and Maude (Rice) Shelton. Lewis was a graduate of Marshall High School in North Carolina. He then married the love of his life, Jill (Marley) Shelton on September 17, 1960.

Lewis worked at Delco Remy as a Commiteeman for 32 years. He was a member of the UAW Union. Lewis loved to play cards, woodworking, planting trees, listening to birds, bowling, and Euchre. He also enjoyed his time spent with his grandchildren, he was always being ornery towards them. Lewis also enjoyed spending time flying planes with his cousin Jimmy Joe Shelton. He was a man that loved his life and always lived it to the fullest.

Lewis is survived by his wife, Jill Shelton; children, Darcie Baxter of Fowlerton, Lewis “Bud” (Carla) Shelton of Fairmount, Thad Shelton of Mercer Island, WA, and Chris Marley of Fairmount; grandchildren, Ashley (Jamie) Landis of Jonesboro, Allison Baxter of Gas City, Matthew (Myla) Baxter of Marion, Sam Shelton of Pendleton, Spencer Shelton of Tampa, FL, Lyndee (Kurt) Russell of Yorktown, Lucas Shelton of Mercer Island, WA, Caroline Shelton of Mercer Island, WA, Calan Kerrigan of Fairmount, Christian Huston of Fairmount; 20 great grandchildren; siblings, Phyllis, Doyle, Helen, and Rickey.

Lewis is preceded in passing by his parents, Nathaniel and Maude (Rice) Shelton, and 3 siblings.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Armes-Hunt Funeral Home & Cremation Services where a visitation will be located at the Fairmount Chapel 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, IN 46928 on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. A service will immediately follow the visitation with Pastor Brock Meyer officiating. A burial will take place at Park Cemetery in Fairmount following the service.
