Leah Faye Beck

Leah Faye (Hiday) Beck, 95, of Alexandria, died at 12:29 a.m., August 14, 2022, at Edgewater Woods in Anderson, Indiana. Leah was born in Hellgate, Montana on December 18, 1926, the daughter of the late Herschel, and Mina "Faye" (Mann) Hiday. She graduated from Fairmount High School in 1944, and attended Earlham College. Leah married George Everett Beck in 1951, and together they shared 70 years of marriage, until his death on June 29, 2021. She fell in love with classical music in the 7th grade and loved art and theater. Leah enjoyed knitting and had made scarfs for soldiers overseas along with over 50 afghans. She enjoyed crossword puzzles in her later years and was also known for for her cooking and baking. Leah is survived by two children, Kris Beck, of Anderson, and John Beck of Indianapolis, Indiana. In addition to her parents and husbnad, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ernest Hiday. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana. A graveside service will be held at Park Cemetery located at 7843 S. 150 E., Fairmount, Indiana 46928, on Friday, August 19, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Brock Meyer officiating.
