Kenneth L. Dickensheets 90 passed away Friday November 29, 2024 at Marion Health, Marion, Indiana. 

Kenneth was born at home in North Marion November 22, 1934 to the late Floyd W. and Mildred L. Dickensheets. He married his wife of 61 years Janet R. Thompson, November 1, 1958. She preceded him in death March 15, 2019. A graduate of Sweetser High School Class of 1954, Ken would later serve in the Army Reserves from 1957 to 1963, being honorably discharged. A carpenter by trade for 45 years, Ken also worked at BICC General Cable (Anaconda) for 30 years, working from January 1966 to March 1997. Ken was recognized by plant management in 1984 as a ‘man that takes great pride in his work, maintains a positive attitude, and has always performed any task asked of him. This is not only what makes him an excellent carpenter but also an excellent friend.

Ken enjoyed Golfing at Arbor Trace and Shady Hills, hunting, fishing, and carpentry. Through the years, Ken would start his day at 5:30 am to meet friends for coffee and get valuable community news at Bolner’s Grist Mill, Vogel’s, and Meijer’s. He was a Scottish Rite Mason, 32nd degree, for 50 plus years and a member of the Masonic Lodge F & AM Chapter 105 in Marion and Chapter 109 in Jonesboro. 

He is survived by his daughter; Jill (Tim) Fosnough, sister; Marcia McVay, grandchildren; Tara Leigh (Joe) Spooner, and Kelsey (Brian) Martinez, great grandchildren; Carver, Anniston, Adrian and Lynnleigh. 

He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, sister; Mary Riddle and brothers, Rolland and William Ross Dickensheets. 

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Rolling Meadows Healthcare Center for the exceptional care they provided to Kenny over the past year, and to Troy and Lisa Middleton (niece) for their many years of compassionate care and loving service to Ken. 

Arrangements for Kenneth has been entrusted to the College Park Chapel, Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Service 4601 S. Western Ave., Marion, IN where the family will receive friends and family from 10-12 on Saturday December 14, 2024 followed immediately by a Life Celebration Service. Interment will be at Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, IN. Memorial Contributions are to Rolling Meadows Healthcare Center, 604 Rennaker St., La Fontaine, IN 46940.
