Judy A. Dickensheet

December 16, 1952 — February 27, 2019

Surrounded by her family, Judy Ann Dickensheet went to be with her beloved mother in heaven on February 27th, 2019. Judy was born December 16, 1952, to Martha Garner and Arthur Raney in Little Rock Arkansas. She attended school there and later received her GED when she moved to Muncie, Indiana. Judy worked as a waitress and bartender at several local establishments, including the Gas City Moose, Jonesboro Legion, Rosies Little Italy, and Cracker Barrel. Judy loved working with and meeting new people; she was very crafty and loved to sew and paint. She enjoyed playing Bingo and watching wrestling (especially Roman Reins), playing Donkey Kong, Frogger, rooting for the Dallas Cowboys, and above all, spending time with her family. Judy didnt really have friends, because once she was your friend, you were family to her and she loved everyone the same. Judy was thoughtful and always did her best to make others feel special and loved. Judy married the love of her life, Joseph Dickensheet, on July 7, 1993. After they both retired, they loved to travel and go to the boats. You need only look at the two of them together to see how much they truly loved each other. As Judys health declined, Joe took care of her and made sure she received the best of everything to help her. Judy is also survived by her daughters, Amanda Dotterweich and Heather (Scott) Koons; son, Joey (Linda) Dickensheet; sisters, Sue (Bones) Gregory and Patty (Wayne) Brown; grandchildren, Madison, Carter, Kaitlyn, Anthony, Harrison, Josh, Justin, Amanda, Christa, and Steven; great-grandchildren, Kensingtan, Paetyn, Emmersyn, and Crimson; sisters-in-law, Donna Williams and Linda Dickensheet; nieces and nephews, Leah (Scotty) Stinson, Corey (Ammie) Frasier, Auston Brown, Mike (Stephanie) Hill, Brett (Kim) Hill, Lois (Rico) Petty, Mark Williams, Jimmy (Gaila) Williams, Tommy Williams; and several great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Bobby Dickensheet and Jim Williams, her Mollie dog, and best friend, Judy Cook. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the amazing nurses on the 4th floor and in ICU at Ball Memorial Hospital. Friends may call on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Jones-Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 259 North Main Street, Upland, Indiana 46989. A funeral service honoring Judy will follow the visitation at 12:30 p.m. with Pastor Andrew Cole officiating. Burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Marion VA Hospital, to help those struggling with addictions and/or PTSD.
