Joseph Ray Stanley, 83, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021, in Stuart, Florida. He was born on July 11, 1938, in Marion, Indiana, son of the late J. Carl and Glendora Stanley. He moved from Van Buren his Senior year and graduated from Marion High School in 1956. He then joined the Marines. After the Marine Corp, Joe worked several professions during his lifetime including a physical therapist, a salesman for Ralph David Electric and eventually ending his professional career as a carpenter with the Marion VA Medical Center, Physical Plant. "Joe" was a musician in a band called The Untouchables for many years. He loved to spend time with his family/friends, watch IU/Pacer basketball, play music, and spoil his grandchildren. Joseph is survived by his children, Troy (Michele) Stanley, Gas City; Tony (Kathleen) Stanley, Marion; Melissa (Afnan) Stanley, Stuart, FL; and Leah (Rick) Gamble, Syracuse; sister, Anna Louise Wilson, Detroit, MI; ex-wife, Susan Miller, Marion; ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Phillip Stanley; sisters, Marilyn King, and Kathleen Stanley; and ex-wife, Gail Stanley. Arrangements for Joseph have been entrusted to College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 South Western Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46953. The family will have a visitation for family and friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 3, 2022, from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. A funeral will be held at the Marion VA Chapel on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at 12:30 P.M. Burial will follow at the Marion National Cemetery. Afterward, please join the family for a Celebration of Life at "Eventfully Yours," 5243 S. Adams St, Marion.
