Jo-Lynne Whirl

Jo-Lynne Whirl, 67, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023, after an extended illness.

Jo-Lynne was born on December 16, 1955, in Peru, Indiana, daughter of the late Robert "Chet" and Jonita "Joy" (Brodt) Whirl, and graduated from Oak Hill High School. Jo-Lynne enjoyed making jewelry, attending old car shows, gardening, listening to the Beatles, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jo-Lynne is survived by her daughter, Terra (Butch) Ashcraft; son, William "Kris" (Kristen Summers) Holmes; four grandchildren, Jessica Ashcraft, Austin (Abi) Ferguson, and Katelynn and Lela; great-grandchild, Juniper Ferguson; brother, Robert (Lu) Whirl; sisters, Linda (Whitey) Russell and Billie (Mark) Shaffer; niece, Justine: and special friend, Rena Fawns.

She was preceded in death by her parents; love of her life, Terry Whiteman; sister, Jean Clark; and brother, Richard Whirl.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 1:00pm at the old Converse Methodist Church, 109 East Wabash, Converse, IN 46919. Light refreshments will be served following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Services of Grant County. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Stillwater Hospice and University Nursing Center in Upland, for the great care they gave to Jo-Lynne, especially Amanda Cooper.
