With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of John Leslie Stupples, a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on June 17, 1944, in Los Angeles, California, John was the beloved son of the late Leslie and Josephine Stupples.
A man of unwavering commitment, John married the love of his life, Rogeania Martin, on January 21, 1968, and together they shared a beautiful life. An alumnus of Anderson Sr. High School, John ventured into various professions, including farming and driving an oil truck for Marathon, before finding his true calling as a dedicated bus driver for Eastbrook Community Schools, where he proudly served countless students over the years.
A man of faith, John found solace and community at Center Chapel Church, where he was a devoted member. In his leisure time, John found joy in casting a line while fishing, appreciating the serenity of nature and the thrill of the catch, as well as enjoying boating with his family at their lake house in Tennessee.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Rogeania; his children, Michelle (Ken) Rowland, Midland, Texas, Greg (Melissa) Stupples, and Chuck (Mindy) Stupples, both of Marion; his adored grandchildren, Emily, Rachel, and Landon Rowland, Brooklyn and Emmett Stupples, Devin and Kayla Stupples; and his sister, Jane (Dave) Gradison, amongst other extended family and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Josephine, and his beloved grandchildren, twins Kenneth Charles and Rebekah Nicole Rowland.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones-Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Funeral services and celebrations of John's life will be held at Center Chapel Church, 8733 East 200 South, Marion, Indiana 46953, on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. A visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow the funeral at Jefferson Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Center Chapel Church in John's memory.
