John "Jack" Skinner, a loving husband, father, pa and pop pop peacefully passed away at the VA hospital in Ft. Wayne on November 25, 2024, at the age of 92. Born on November 27, 1931, in La Fontaine, Indiana, Jack was the son of the late Clarence Skinner and Gladys (Oden) Skinner. He grew up in La Fontaine and later attended Sweetser High School and graduated in 1950.
After school, John went on to serve our country, as part of the Navy and was in the Korean Conflict. In his later life he enjoyed his time on the farm.
Jack was passionate about spending time with his family and talking about Jesus which is his greatest legacy. Jack attended First Church of the Nazarene.
On April 9, 1955 Jack married his beloved wife Martha (Mook) Skinner, who he loved with his whole heart. She proceeds him in death. Together, they had a beautiful family and made many memories together. Jack was a devoted father to Kevin Skinner and Karen (Bob) Klaasen, a loving pa to Jonathan (Elyssa) Klaasen and Joey (Nicole) Klaasen, and a wonderful pop pop to his great-grandson Ocean Klaasen.
Jack is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Skinner, his mother, Gladys (Oden) Skinner, brother Clarence "Buck" Skinner and sisters Nadene Graham and June Duling. Jack's loss will leave a void in those who knew him and loved him.
Funeral arrangements for John "Jack" Skinner have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 South Western Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46953.
Funeral arrangements for Jack will be visitation from 3-4 Saturday November 30, 2024 at the College Park Chapel, Armes-Hunt Life Celebrationuneral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 S. Western Ave., Marion, IN 46953 followed with the funeral service at 4:00 PM A private burial will be on Monday December 2, 2024 at Grant Memorial Park
