John Downam

John was born June 22, 1962 to the late Donald and Ellen Downam. He attended Eastbrook High School and Ivy Tech Community Community College.

In June 16, 1989 he married Maschelle Chapman, who preceded him in death on April 5, 2018. John enjoyed working on cars, camping, fishing, riding his Harley and four wheeler. He is survived by his son John Downam Jr., step-children Adam Chapman and Ashley Lake-Wolfe and grandchildren; brothers James (Karen) Downam, PA; Donald Downam Jr who preceded him in death January 16, 2022; sister, Rita Barvais, MI, nieces and nephews. Arrangements for John have been entrusted to Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A celebration of life will be held at Southside Wesleyan Church 312 East South E Street, Gas City, IN 46933 on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 11:30 am to 1pm, with tribute starting at 12pm. Burial following at Grant Memorial Park, Marion, IN. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to funeral home to help with expenses.
