John David (JD) Whybrew passed peacefully to Eternal Life while wintering in Florida on March 13, 2017. He was born August 12, 1941 to John William and Mary (Reed) Whybrew in Marion, Indiana. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Diana (Bramel) Whybrew, daughter Amy (Tim) Tarter of Noblesville, sons, David (Kimberly) Whybrew and Scott (Connie) Whybrew of Swayzee, and Mark (Kelly) Whybrew of Summitville. Brother Jerry (Sharon) Whybrew of Monticello. Mother-in-law Jean Bramel. Brother-in-laws Mike (Chris) and Ken (Mary) Bramel. JD was a long time farmer in Green Township. He was a 1959 graduate of Swayzee High School and a 1963 graduate of Purdue University and was an avid Boilermaker fan. He was proud of his thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren: JT, Sam, Haley, Alicen, Liz, Torey, Hope, Austin, Brady, Caleb, Kaytie, Madison, Lizzy, Camdyn, and Emerson. He enjoyed following his grandchildren to 4-H, sporting and musical events. He and Diana had been active members of Antioch Christian Church and attended Jones Chapel Church for many years. JD had been a member of The American Shorthorn Association, the Grant County Beef Breeders Association, the Green Township Lions Club and a leader of the Green Township Farm Boys 4-H Club. Visitation will be Friday, March 17, at the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home Cremation Services in Marion from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. Services will be Saturday March 18 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Nathan Whybrew (nephew) officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Jones Chapel Christian Church.
