John Brent Miller

John Brent Miller was called to his eternal home with Jesus on the evening of December 7, 2022, while in his home in Sweetser, Indiana.

After High School he went to work for Active Products for many years until they shut down and then he opened his true passion an auto body shop and did that up to his last days…he loved working on cars.

John could really sing! From his Oak Hill HS Swing Choir days of “Stairway to Heaven” to starting his own worship group “The Sunshine Singers” he had a great voice and used it for God’s glory by performing in local churches and events.

John frequented a lot of Pacers and Colts games and enjoyed watching many sporting events on TV. Here are a few more of his favorite things: family, family trips, friendship, music, cars, ping-pong, antiquing, and collecting. He appeared on a toy magazine for having one of the largest privately owned Texaco collections.

Siblings: Christopher (Kimberly) Miller, Sarah (Roger) Vogel, Thorpe (Gina) Miller, Mary (Jason) Miller; Gary (Ellenor) Purvis, Kenny (Mary) Purvis; Cheryl (Bill) Fields

Grandchildren: Heavyn, Ethan, and Trinity Miller; Madyson Miller; Hailey, Adam, and Josh Miller

He is survived by his children, in addition to four sister-in-laws, three brother-in-laws, seven grandchildren, two uncles, one aunt, nieces, nephews, and many beloved Winger/White and Miller/Kratzer cousins.

John was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ellen Miller; father, Robert Miller; and son, Justin Robert Miller.

The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to Southside Wesleyan Church, 312 E South E Street, Gas City Indiana 46933.

Arrangements for John have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 4601 S. Western Avenue, Marion, IN 46953. On Saturday, December 17, 2022, visitation will take place from 10am-12pm at the funeral home. A funeral service will follow at 12pm with Reverend Mark Atkinson officiating. There will also be a live streaming link available on this day at www.armeshuntfuneralhome.com listed on John’s tribute page. Graveside services will be held at Grant Memorial Park immediately following the service.
