Joann Buis

JoAnnBuis, 87, formerly of Fairmount, Indiana died Sunday, July 30, 2017 at York Place in Marion, Indiana. JoAnnwas born in Morgan County, Indiana on February 25, 1930, daughter of the late Harley and Lucy (Stierwalt) Jones. She graduated from Gosport High School in 1948 and married Leroy W.Buison April 3, 1948 in Gosport, IN. Leroy preceded her in death on September 13, 2013.JoAnnworked at Summit Convalescent Center for 10 years where she worked as a health aid and also at Mar-Brook Camp Ground where she worked in the gatehouse. JoAnn loved traveling and camping. She and Leroy were members of the Avion RV Club and was a Travel Cade organizer for over 30 years. Leroy was the driver and JoAnn the navigator. One of their favorite trips was visiting Alaska which they did 3 times. She was a member of the CPC Sympathy Club. JoAnn and Leroy retired to Texas where they lived for 22 years before returning to Fairmount. She is survived by daughter Sharon (William) Long, Fairmount, IN, sons; Michael Buis, Noblesville, IN, Garry (Joyce) Buis, Tavares, FL, JeffreyBuis, Wabash, IN and Clifton (Peggy)Buis, Leesburg, FL, 9 grandchildren and several great- grandchildren, sister, Donna (Jerry) Graves, Switz City, IN and brother Jerry (Clara) Jones, Indianapolis, IN, brother-in-law, Raymond (Martha) Buis, Spencer, IN Arrangements are being handled by Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, IN where the family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 from 3-5 PM. Funeral service celebrating JoAnns life will follow at 5 PM with Chaplain John Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Fairmount, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
